I'm selling a Fully Refurbished PlayStation console with the XStation installed. In short the CD-ROM drive is removed and replaced with a microSD card reader, and the optional X-Reset adds the ability to conveniently restart the console via the controller!!
The XStation and X-Reset simplifies PSX-Dev. Instead of wasting time burning CDs you can transfer the game you're developing to a microSD card and boot it using the industry standard homebrew development setup. The XStation is the industry standard for optical drive emulation and PlayStation development.
I try to keep a unit built, tested and bagged, for sale and ready to go! If I need to build one for you it can take up to 1 week to go through the process. Thanks for understanding!
The Craftsmans Work:
Here's what I do. I source a good quality used console with no cosmetic flaws that I myself would want to own. I test its main functionality for a baseline, and if all is good, I have the green light to go ahead with a full disassembly and deep clean. If the console has a faded patina at all I treat that and renew the color -- these are 30 year old plastics after all. I then install the XStation, optionally X-Reset, and do a full recap, which requires special PRO GRADE tools and high precision alteration of the IC702. I then reassemble, adding high quality PAO grease where applicable to ensure everything is as smooth as a baby's bottom! Post-assembly I polish and protect the console's exterior plastic with an aerospace protectant for UV protection. Fully assembled, I stress test the refurbished console for 8-12 hours. As for old controllers, these I fully disassemble and ensure the OEM conductive surface on the silicone dome buttons are hitting how I as a gamer want them to hit. I know what it's like to have funky buttons, trust me.
What is "Fully Recapped":
The PlayStation console is going on 30 years old and electronics have components in them that dry out and leak riiiight aboutttt this age... this can cause irreparable damage!! So I have taken the time to proactively remove every capacitor on the console's mainboard and power supply with brand new high grade ones. This preventative maintenance takes 3+ hours but ensures the console will last as long as possible. I can't guarantee it but the shelf life is 25 years. That's 2050!
Note: The console has ANALOG AV OUTPUT and does not have HDMI output. However, and this is why I use the SCPH-5501, this model is the only model which can take both this XStation AND the PS1 Digital. So in the future if you ever wanted HDMI it can be installed! Hooray! :)
Extras - I have a price chart I consult. Just depends what I have in stock.
- Base Console that is NOT recapped is: $250. I DO NOT sell this baseline any more because these are 30 year old consoles and we are installing an expensive mod and don't want problems down the line.
- Recapped console + power supply $70
- X-Reset $30
- 3rd Party Controller $5
- OEM OG Controller, NOT Dual Shock $10
- 3rd Party MemCard $5
- OEM MemCard $10

- Power + AV S-Video Cable $10

I do quality craftsmanship. Everything I sell is authentic, official, OEM or 3rd party if stated. All tested and all working. This is work that I myself am proud of, I fully stress test the installations for multiple days, and what I'm passing onto you I intend to give you YEARS of operation! (God willing...) I will help and support you with any setup or usage for life.
If you need proof the console works, I can provide that BEFORE you pick it up.
I do these as passion projects using PRO GRADE tools.
Ask me any questions!
Check out my other listings as well. I make a hand-made paracord wrapped N64 controller with 10FT cable, a fully setup SummerCart 64 for N64 dev, I have an N64 Memory Card that's been FRAM modded aka it does not require a battery.
