Do you know of, or are you, an older drummer in Nashville looking to play again with a couple of other older dudes. Singer, bass and guitar, sometimes a second guitar. All very capable musicians, we just need a good drummer. Currently working on Smooth by Santana & Rob Thomas, Two Tickets to Paradise by Eddie Money, Banditos by The Refreshments, 867-5309 by Tommy Tutone, Sharp Dressed Man by ZZ Top and a few others but trying out "drummers" is really slowing us down. One guy couldn't complete a fill without completely losing time, another guy was a little better but he too could not do any kind of fill that didn't sound clumsy and his tempo was very inconsistent. The last guy that showed up had a School of Rock shirt on, I was hoping he was a teacher. He had his little pouch with his sticks and everything, he sat down and when he went to run through the drums, like drummers do, where they hit each drum a couple of times or do a little roll, well he only hit a couple of the drums and hit the rims on the others (not intentionally) I looked over at my guitar player and just dropped my head. That was a really bad sign. This guy lasted one song, he was a total beginner/student. When we were done butchering that first song I just left the room while our bass player had "the talk" with him, since he was the one who invited him. I kind of felt bad for the guy, Bless his heart. Anyways, we don't need a Neil Peart or John Bonham, we need a solid time keeper like a Ringo Star LOL
