Vintage 1980 Tokai “Love Rock” electric guitar for sale! This beauty is in great shape for being almost 50 years old!! Truly a great MIJ Les Paul!! Nearly perfect other than one tiny chip behind headstock when I got it which I had addressed by Scott at Harpeth Guitar Restoration (you can barely even see it now!!!) This beauty is in great shape for being close to 50 years old!! The stock tuners had been replaced by quality Schaller tuners long before I got it. Plays and sounds just fantastic! Holds tune well and absolutely screams!!! Ive read that these guitars became popular in the late 70s early 80’s time period when the quality of Les Paul’s were not as well made. These vintage Love Rock guitars are just fantastic! I’ve had this one for many years and as I’m getting a little older it’s starting to feel a little heavier! ha ha! Comes with the Lifton style hard case. Currently they sell for anywhere from $1400- $2500 depending on year and condition. I have now dropped the price $350 bucks from $2100 down to $1750 (which is less than the cheapest one on Reverb which is listed at 1850 with shipping). I’d also be very interested in trading it for a 1960s era Gibson Melody Maker , single pickup, double cutaway, sunburst. Cheers!
