Late 1990s/Early 2000s made in Japan Fernandes FRB-85/Gravity 4-string active long scale bass in a trans purple finish. Based on Fernandes catalog research, this bass was introduced in 1999 as part of the FRB/Gravity bass series of instruments. The heel of the neck is stamped "BL" (color code for black) as well as "GR-4" (gravity series, 4 string). The body is a 3-piece ash body in a transparent purple finish. It features a top-loading Gohtoh J510B-4 black bridge, a set of FGI-PJ active pickups, and 4 control knobs (master volume, a detented pickup blend knob, a detented Bass boost/cut knob, as well as a detented treble boost/cut knob). The back of the body Features a 9v battery casing as well as access to the electronics/preamp. The neck is a 3-piece maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard. The headstock has 4 black Gohtoh tuners and a "Gravity" truss rod cover. There are multiple dings/scratches throughout the body of the guitar, including a small lacquer crack near the input jack. The neck also features a couple dings. None of these defects affect the playability or sound production of this bass. This instruments frets have been cleaned/polished, the fingerboard has been treated, this bass is equipped with new StringJoy strings, string height and intonation have been set, and the neck relief has been set. This bass comes with a roadrunner softshell gig bag.
