Very good condition 1971 Fender Competition Mustang Bass in Competition Burgundy (blue). All original (outside of the replaced pickguard), no breaks etc. This particular example has one of the warmest bass tones I have heard from a mustang bass of this era. Very easy to lay back and play with your fingers, but can also get very gritty if dug into with a pick. All knobs, electronics, and tuners have been tested to be working as expected. No scratchy pots etc. Original tuners hold tune well and are not bent. There is some play wear associated with a thumb placement on the top, and the usual buckle rash as pictured. Nothing out of the ordinary. Original racing stripe is still quite in tact. There is some play wear on the back of the neck, and a deeper wear pocket near the first fret on the back of the neck as pictured. Does not affect the playability of the neck etc. Original Fender case is still in decent shape, and even includes the original Fender strap. Willing to ship or drive a reasonable distance. Always open to offers!
