Description:
Selling my 1989 Ford 555C backhoe. The previous owner used this machine primarily for septic tank installs. It's powered by the 4-cylinder Ford 256 diesel engine and has plenty of torque for serious trenching, clearing, and lifting. It runs good and starts up great, even in the cold weather.
Included Attachments & Extras:
Narrow bucket (perfect for trenching)
Additional stabilizer pads
Recent Maintenance & Upgrades:
Cab Comfort: Brand new captain's seat installed.
Hydraulics: Several new hydraulic hoses installed, including a new main high-pressure system pump hose.
Cylinders: One lift cylinder recently resealed. (Includes an extra set of seals for the backhoe cylinder).
Steering: Steering hydraulic motor has been completely overhauled. The left-side steering hydraulic line was replaced (comes with an extra right-hand line).
Tires/Wheels: 2 brand new front rims and tires.
Lighting: 2 new LED front bucket lights installed for early/late work.
Condition & Quirks:
Cosmetics: Has the typical cosmetic flaws (faded paint, surface wear, etc.) you'd expect from heavy equipment used out in the elements.
Mechanical: The brakes could use adjusting, but it hasn't posed any issues for our use at this time. Otherwise, it's a strong, reliable machine.
