I have been reluctant to offer up this piece over the years because I can't provide much detail. I found and purchased the effigy at a roadside flee market in the foothills of the Ozarks back in the late 1960's. I have owned this piece for almost 60 years. The gentleman I purchased it from said he got it from his brother a few years ago before he passed away. His brother had done a lot of arrowhead trading in the past and that's how he got it. Now you know what I know.
With all that said, I purchased it because of the quality knapping, the shape of the eagle and the size. You can see in the pictures that there are a couple of cracks, and they were there when I made the purchase. The cracks, to me, looked old at that time.
You be the judge, look at the pictures and you decide if it meets your needs. New or Old, this piece is unique, quality is excellent and size is one that you want see everyday. The size is almost 6 1/2" wing tip to tip and 3" tall.
I will try to answer any questions you may have. I will be listing some additional authentic artifacts over the next few days.
