Digital Camera Services (Middle Tennessee)

Did someone say Volunteers? Well, when I was in the Marines I learned to never, ever volunteer for anything and I haven't learned anything different in all these years since.

I have 3 great quality Digital Cameras sitting around gathering dust and 2 of them are less than 6 months old. I have a 5,7 and 10 Mega Pixel digital camera/s. All digital cameras are capable of also taking digital videos as well, so if you want video taken, that too can be done however, only the 10 MP camera will assemble both the video and audio without further editing. Any video and audio editing will naturally be an added expense and will be charged accordingly. I will naturally recommend taking all video with the 10 MP digital camera, not only for ease on my part but for cost effectiveness on your's.

I am willing to travel to your location and take as many pictures of anything you so desire, anything...

My idea is or was to help you get your pictures out of the net for any reason you may so desire however, what you want photographed or what you do with those photographs is no real concern to me provided that you don't ask me to violate any laws of your local, state or federal governments. UNDERSTOOD ???

How about we do this another way? How about I provide you with FREE digital photographs and you compensate me only for my time and gas (automobile) that it takes me to provide you with these free services? I think that sounds a little bit more reasonable and fair to you. That way, you pay me only for the time it takes me to travel from and back to my home and for the gasoline that it takes me to get there and back.

My time will cost is for sale at $20 per hour (from the minute I leave my home, until the minute I return home, total travel time will be calculated on the exact time it takes me to get to your location, multiplied by 2) The cost of gasoline is $5 per gallon and my car gets 20 miles per gallon, so if I have to travel a total of 100 miles ((round trip)), then I will charge you $25 for the gas for my car.

The only other possible charge that you may encounter is if you want the digital SD memory chip that my camera needs to take pictures or video and that cost varies, according to what the going rate is for me to replace what I currently have in my cameras. A 4 GB SD memory chip will take hundreds of pictures while only handling about 30 minutes of video. All pictures will be saved in a JPG format and video will be saved in an AVI format and videos will also include audio as well.

Current SD Memory is estimated at and I will need to know at the time of your setting an appointment with me if you wish to own the memory before I leave your site.

$ 10 for 1 GB
$ 15 for 2 GB
$ 20 for 4 GB
$ 38 for 8 GB
$100 for 16 GB

Do you have anything you want put in a digital photo or video format ?

NOTE: All pictures and video will be transferred to either CD or DVD (depending on how much space is required) and will be shipped FREE by normal U.S. Postal service means. Any other means of shipment will be an extra charge.

Please Help (Columbia)

O.K. where to begin...
I am a disabled mother of 3 and in 2001 my ex-husband and myself went to divorce court. He got custody of my 1 son and I the other son.
The court papers (divorce papers) state I am to be able to see my son each summer plus every other holiday and there in lies the problem.
He is keeping my son from seeing me...

A brief history of what is going on here....
I was residing in Louisiana at the time of hurricane rita (2005). The hurricane moved me back here when one nite i got stopped by the police and served a
child support hearing petition; stating that my son was in states custody which no one bothered to inform me, the mother. Why is that? I was not charged
with neglect or any thing as a matter of fact I have other children with this same man. Afterwards my x had an accident and the children were all taken
into custody....Why wasn't my child returned to me instead of states custody in this matter? Now I have just learned that state gave full custody to a
foster mother, again I was not contacted! I have not moved or anything, same number etc...

My son called me tonite asking me to do something so he can come see me...
How can I see my son legally and possibly find out how/why I wasn't notified in the above incidents? It seems to me that there is a little more than meets
the eyes in this situation.

I think that this would be a great case for someone, I feel that something or someone has been paid or some other alternate method has been used to take my
son from me.

I am on disabilty so I can not afford a lawyer however I love my children dearly and want them only happy.
I pray that this gets to someone willing to help or perhaps to give a little helpfull advice.

Thank You For Taking Your Time To Read This:
I am leaving my number in hopes someone can help.

Did you know that the high school exchange student programs were created by our governemnt after WWII to improve our image worldwide? The programs still exist because they work, and there has never been a time that we NEED this more than now.

Please do not dismiss this wonderfully enriching opportunity because you have no children, are single, or have only small children. Some of the best placements of all are with families with small children. Two or more teenagers under the same roof is a whole different dynamic than one teenager and a few small children who all love eachother and can express it much more freely than.... You know what I mean, both ways can work beautifully.

International Student Exchange is a non-profit organization, approved by the U.S. Department of State, and fully listed with the Council on Standards for International Educational Travel (www.csiet.org).

It's all about connections and life-long friendships with kids who may, in the coming years, become leaders in their home nations. We work with students from at least 56 nations including Spain, Vietnam, Tailand, Holland, Chile, The Czech Republic, Belgium, South Korea, Serbia, China, Brazil, Germany...

Currently we need volunteer host families for students arriving in August for the 2008-09 school year. We also have a few students who come for only one semester.

We have student profiles for you to view which include introductory letters and a list of enjoyed activities like soccer, hockey, basketball, horseback riding, musical hobbies and aspirations, cooking, etc.

We also need area representatives in the outlying areas of Tennessee and Kentucky who enjoy working with people. The host families are volunteers, but area reps do make some money for placing and supervising students. An area rep who finds seven host families, gets to go on the training trip to Athens Greece next November. Fourteen, and you can bring a family member.
Here are sample pictures of some of the students who may be available for placement in Tennessee or Kentucky for this coming school year.

Aldo (upper left) is from Chihuahua. Both of his parents are doctors and he plans on becoming a doctor too. He is very athletic, excelling especially in soccer and golf. He has a lot of chores at home including charge of the garden and lawn, washing the car and keeping his room clean. *****Aldo has requested placement in Kentucky*****.

Kim Ngoc (upper right, with her brother) is from Vietnam. She has many responsibilities and chores at home, but is also a very motivated student. Her English teachers say she is very astute and gets along well with everyone, but that she is also a little bit timid. She enjoys camping and other outdoor activities with her family.

Marcela (lower left) is from Brazil, but her grandparents are from Italy. She loves to cook and go horseback riding. She also enjoys sports such as vaulting, handball, swimming, basketball, ping pong and skiing.

Seung-ho "Nick" (lower right) is from South Korea. His father says of him, "He is mild and friendly to others. He is very excellent in understanding the core of the subject such as talking, story and etc. However, he is a little prudent to express his idea in front of others. In my point of view he listens carefully to what others say. I believe he is well accustomed to change environment so that he can be a good member of your family."

Needing Volunteers for Guardian Angels for Soldier's Pet (Tennessee)

I am the TN State Director for Guardian Angels for Soldier's Pet. We are a 501(c)3 charity, whose main purpose is to find foster homes for our deploying military members' pets. When a soldier is deployed, s/he has to find a family member or friend who is willing to take care of their pet(s) until they return from service. If no one is available, as in most cases since the soldier is usually based far from "home", the soldier ends up giving their beloved pet to a shelter or humane society, or at worst, abandoning the animal. IN MOST CASES, THE SOLDIER DOES NOT WANT TO GIVE UP THE PET!!!

Guardian Angels for Soldier's Pet was organized for this specific purpose. By working with the community and our military, we find foster homes who are willing to open their arms & homes to care for that soldier's pet(s) until the soldier returns from his tour of duty. Most deployment times are 15-18 months, but we also have training deployments that are only for a few weeks, or sometimes, it's a military hardship of some kind that only lasts a few weeks or months.

I am looking for volunteers to help get our organization's information out to their communities/friends/family as well as any military in their area (National Guard, etc.). This basically means going around your community and putting our brochures/posters at businesses and telling your friends/family about GASP. Also we need people to volunteer their time to find foster homes in their communities and help with fundraising. Anyone with a love for animals can do this!! Put yourself in the shoes of a soldier that must go away for months on end from family/friends/country. Wouldn't looking forward to seeing your beloved pet help you get through that tour of duty in some way!

If interested, please contact Marge Janiak at 615-942-8389 or 615-417-2796, or at the email address noted.

This is a complicated situation and I will try to explain it as best I can. I am a 26 yr old single mother of a 10 yr old. I was recently evicted from my apt in Hermitage because I was late 1 months rent. I moved a few blocks away only to find out that I am no longer in the donelson school zone. Which means that I will have to send my son to a different school away from all the friends he has already made come september. My son just moved back in with me in 1997 he was living in the West Indies with his grand parents. It took him a while to adjust to the American lifestyle and he still has a long way to go especially where his education is concerned. I have spoke to the school and have tried to explain the situation to them but they are not making any exceptions for my son. I need an apartment that is in the donelson school zone, if I am not living in the donelson school zone my son will not be able to ride the school bus. I am looking for someone who is willing to get an apartment within the school zone in their name and let my son and I live there. My son will be devastated if he has to leave all the friends that he has already made and I am very afraid that he will begin to fall behind in his school work all over again. I work very hard to keep bills paid, my son needs to be able to ride the government school bus to and from school everyday. The apt will not have to be in your name forever I will be back on my feet to resign the lease after 12 months. Please please please if you can help email me or call me at 615 596 9498 April

Calling all moms! I am starting a new website especially for moms and am in need of all/any moms who have a little something they would like to share with other moms via written online articles. I will need writers who want to touch on things such as life, style, beauty, parenting, good deals/finds etc. You will be given a full page on the "about us" section on the website with your photo and credentials (just being a mom as a credential is sufficient enough). If you feel you have what it takes to be one of my writers, please tell me a little bit about yourself and what topics you would like to write about. Please include a paragraph of your writing skills with your response. (It can be about anything). This is a volunteer position only.
This will be the site, but is under construction.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Inspired by the theories of Rudolf Steiner, Sólheimar has focused on cultivating the individual and the environmental, and is the first community in Scandinavia to practice organic cultivation. Today, Sólheimar (The home of the sun) is a charming village of about 100 inhabitants, renowned for its international, artistic and ecological atmosphere, which prides itself on its varied cultural, social and sporting activities. The village is only one hour drive from Reykjavik.

The volunteers have free access to the swimming pool and gym. Volunteers are also encouraged to take part in social happenings in Sólheimar like in sports, music, the theatre group, etc. Sólheimar Arts Summer festival will last until the beginning of August. The program is varied with all sorts of arts exhibitions, an outdoor market, and theatre and cabaret performances at 4 o’clock every Saturday and every Sunday in the theatre and café Grćna Kannan. Volunteers are welcome to participate in the singing groups and cabarets.

[][]Any Kind of Family Can Host Family a Foriegn Exchange Student [][] (Tennessee and Kentucky)

Please feel free to ask me more about this. One of the best placements this year is a family with four small children hosting a young lady from the Netherlands. Like almost any other teenager, she has friends at church and at school, but at home they are Family. Single people and empty nesters can also host.

So,

We need help,

and you CAN do something to help improve our image worldwide!

OK, We're talkin' small scale here, but we will be getting profiles of up to 50 kids (20 so far) to place in Tennessee. Many of these students have stated in their introductory letters that the reason they want to come on this exchange is because they don't believe what they are hearing about us as a people or about our nation in general. They want to come over and see for themselves the "Real America".

We need your help to make that happen. It may seem too early to be thinking about this right now, but the later it gets the more difficult it is to find schools with available room for them. All public schools and some private schools have a limit (usually 5, sometimes less) to the number of exchange students they can accept. Also, if you start the process now, you will have months of direct corespondence to pave the way before your student arrives.

Please e-mail the above address and/or ("and" is best) call Pamela at

615/568-8556

if you are interested in participating in this exciting and unifying program.
Thanks
Isabell from Norway is pictured (upper left) with her little brother. Her mother reports that she is very fond of small children, and they of her as well. Isabell lives with her mother and younger brother and they all share a very loving relationship.

Huy (upper right) is from Vietnam. He is very tidy, loves painting and drawing, ping-pong, badmitten and swimming. He has a seven-year-old brother and wants to be an architect when he grows up.

Eun Jin (lower left) is from Korea. She loves art, drawing and painting, and she wants to learn to play guitar and drums. She has a little brother with whom she gets along very well.

Anja (lower right) is from Germany. Like most of our students she is athletic and performs well in school, but she is also fond of horses. Her favorite sports are tennis and volleyball.

Looking for people to participate in a Petland Protest! (Murfreesboro)

I'm looking to put together a Petland protest this summer- more than likely on a Saturday for the entire time they are open. If it is not possible for you to stay all day (which is understandable), then we could work out a schedule. So people could come out for a few hours and then a few more could come and relieve them so we could keep a large group there continuously. This will be a PEACEFUL protest of course- just showing signs, handing out flyers and educating the public on Petland. If we can get enough people to come out regularly, then we can get Petland closed! It's worked in other cities and I believe that it could work here. They've closed once before for bankruptcy so they're not exactly that strong in the first place. If you're interested then please send an e-mail.
Thank you!
We have no affiliation with this group yet, But for some more information on Petland protests and boycotts visit http://www.idausa.org/campaigns/petland/campaign.html

Looking to start a club where members meet on a regular basis to discuss and develop home solar powered hydrogen kits. The sun is the way to go if we can get solar cells cheaply enough. Anybody got ideas? Lets get together and develop the answer to the gas crunch before we all have to start riding horses again. We'll need retired mechanical engineers, chemical engineers (Is there such a thing?)electrical engineers etc. Retirees who want a legacy will work. All have to sign an agreement that you won't sell out.
I actually made an electrolysis rig in about twenty mins one time and was producing hydrogen within an hour off a battery. We need to make electricity cheap first however. Solar Panels should work. You retired electrical engineers and computer guys can work together to get the solar panels for the experiment. Gas guys can determine strength of storage tanks. Mechanical Engineers and chemical guys can determine cooling and compression techniques. Mechanical Guys can work on getting the right combo of hydrogen/oxygen/gas etc to run production line vehicles without modification. Or modify engines and injectors as needed. Any volunteers? Idea man here who wants to give it a go. Made my first electrolysis maching out of pvc and eight inch bolts. Worked fine, just took too many amps. Write me at honydoman9@aol.com or kelleyc@realtracs.com and stop worrying about the naysayers. Bill Gates didn't. Even if we can't make it work we can enjoy the effort.

Host families needed for 2-week foreign exhchange program this summer! (Nashville, TN)

Can you (or someone you know) host a foreign exchange student for two
weeks this summer?

Twelve boys and girls from China are eager to spend two weeks this
summer with families in Nashville. The students, ages 12-18, want to
live the normal everyday life of their host families, speak English
and gain a better understanding of American culture.

The students will be with their teacher from 9-5 Monday to Friday.

The students are sponsored by Nacel Open Door, a non-profit
organization. Nacel Open Door's mission is to promote international
understanding and language education by offering accessible, quality
exchange programs with a well-structured support network.

Host families are the heart of the exchange program. They welcome a
student as a new member of the family and share their home, lifestyle
and activities. Nacel Open Door welcomes diversity in its host
families. Students are matched with families according to their
interests and family priorities.

The students are accompanied by chaperones that also stay in the area
with families and provide excellent support. Students bring their own
spending money and have insurance coverage.

The homestay dates start THIS JUNE! For more information please
contact the ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher and Program
Coordinator, Mary Hartley, via email by responding to this post.

Volunteer Coordinator Tornado Relief Fairview Area

The Volunteer Coordinator that has been handling efforts since the day after The early February tornado hit Fairview is moving due to a job transfer and we need someone Effective May 1st(or sooner for ease of transition) to take over the position!!

The coordinator's job includes overseeing schedules for telephone coverage for the volunteer desk, determines volunteer needs (via Case Managers from the LongTermRecoveryCommittee), ensures that appropriate volunteers are scheduled to perform the needed tasks, and ensures that someone is available to meet the volunteers, get the necessary forms signed and given instructions to the work site. (Typically on Saturday mornings).

Generally the coordinator makes lunch arrangements with a variety of local vendors/churches so that volunteers are fed on weekends. (Service/Vendors provide the lunches. The coordinator just coordinates who is providing the service on a specific date)

This VC would also be in close contact with/or attend Long Term Recovery Committee meetings to discuss volunteer status and periodically update local media as to needs and/or status. (Usually they come to you)

This is the short and sweet of it. It is an ideal way for a retired person to give back to a community that will make a dramatic difference in a person's life. The Coordinator may set the schedule to accomodate personal needs. This is not a long term position, but we are looking for someone who can commit at least six months and/or until the job is done or a replacement can be found. Call (615)799-2575 for more information.
These transformed spiritual energies are gradually lifting all life forms, changing our world for the better.
Have you got the welcoming spirit of hospitality to take a 15-18 year old foreigner into your home and treat him or her as you would your own child for one or two semesters?

We will be getting profiles of up to 60 high school exchange students (20 so far) to place in Tennessee for the 2008-09 school year. These students come from over 50 nations, icluding such diverse places as Vietnam and Brazil, and from a variety of backgrounds and interests. Many are athletes, cooks, musicians, etc. All are good students.

We need your help to bring them here, and we need to get cracking on it now. The later it gets, the more difficult it is to find schools with available room for them. All public schools and some private schools have a limit (usually 5, sometimes less) to the number of exchange students they can accept. Also, if you start the process now, you will have months of direct corespondence to pave the way before your student arrives.

Help save a life! We get dogs from shelters when they are being put to sleep and no one else wants them. We used to choose dogs and it was hard to sleep at night. We tell the shelters to call after adopters, other rescues, get who they want. They are all very adoptable but shelters get full and have to put them to sleep! We are in great need for foster homes as many of our fosters have adopted dogs, and now can't foster :( Medical expenses, food and a tax deductible write off is furnished as we are 501(c)(3). Shelter pictures of a few are shown below. The DOGS need YOU!!! You will be saving a life! This is perfect for a playmate for your dog, if you can't afford a dog you can this way, or if you just want to save a life! The foster is the most important part of the rescue! Without you they won't live as we are shelterless (we keep 3 or 4 dogs at a time-usually Pit's and medically needy)! Dogs are quarantined prior to going to their new foster home first as we don't want your dog to get sick! We have an application and do a home check to assure the best dog for you and your home. Also to assure the home is safe as we know what they can get into :) Please call 615-944-7387 or go see the rescue at Petco in Hermitage Saturday 3:00 to 5:30 (these are less busy times)or Sunday 3:00 - 6:00. We can't save them all unfortunately but we can save more with YOUR help!

We also need grantwriters and fundraisers. Also, volunteers for weekend adoption events. We are looking for acreage to build a rescue to save more dogs! We take the mixes, Pit's, medically needy, elderly etc that are the first to go many times in a shelter. They all deserve life! Help make a difference :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Foreign Exchange Can Change The World!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Did you know that the high school exchange student programs were created by our governemnt after WWII to improve our image worldwide? The programs still exist because they work, and there has never been a time that we NEED this more than now.
Please do not dismiss this wonderfully enriching opportunity because you have no children, are single, or have only small children. Some of the best placements of all are with families with small children. Two or more teenagers under the same roof is a whole different dynamic than one teenager and a few small children who all love eachother and can express it much more freely than.... You know what I mean, both ways can work beautifully.
International Student Exchange is a non-profit organization, approved by the U.S. Department of State, and fully listed with the Council on Standards for International Educational Travel (www.csiet.org).
It's all about connections and life-long friendships with kids who may, in the coming years, become leaders in their home nations. We work with students from at least 56 nations including Spain, Vietnam, Tailand, Holland, Chile, The Czech Republic, Belgium, South Korea, Serbia, China, Brazil, Germany...
Currently we need volunteer host families for students arriving in August for the 2008-09 school year. We also have a few students who come for only one semester.
We have student profiles for you to view which include introductory letters and a list of enjoyed activities like soccer, hockey, basketball, horseback riding, musical hobbies and aspirations, cooking, etc.
We also need area representatives in the outlying areas of Tennessee who enjoy working with people. The host families are volunteers, but area reps do make some money for placing and supervising students. An area rep who finds seven host families, gets to go on the training trip to Athens Greece next November. Fourteen, and you can bring a family member.
Here are sample pictures of some of the students who may be available for placement in Tennessee or Kentucky for this coming school year.
Aldo (upper left) is from Chihuahua. Both of his parents are doctors and he plans on becoming a doctor too. He is very athletic, excelling especially in soccer and golf. He has a lot of chores at home including charge of the garden and lawn, washing the car and keeping his room clean. *****Aldo has requested placement in Kentucky*****.
Kim Ngoc (upper right) is from Vietnam. She says, "I am very rejoice when I live together with you. I hope you will regard me as one of the member of your family. After school I will try to arrange the time to help and learn from your family. I would also like to study and participate in your country's culture.".
Marcela (lower left) is from Brazil, but her grandparents are from Italy. She loves to cook and go horseback riding. She also enjoys sports sich as vaulting, handball, swimming, basketball, ping pong and skiing.
Seung-ho "Nick" (lower right) is from South Korea. His father says of him, "He is mild and friendly to others. He is very excellent in understanding the core of the subject such as talking, story and etc. However, he is a little prudent to express his idea in front of others. In my point of view he listens carefully to what others say. I believe he is well accustomed to change environment so that he can be a good member of your family."
Father needs safe land to take twin sons deer hunting
Dear Land Owner,
Hello, I am a Bellevue native. My wife and I are raising 13-year-old twin boys who attend private school here in Nashville. Other than playing sports, my boys love skeet shooting and hunting. The boys and I have received our hunter safety license from Tennessee’s Wildlife Resources Agency and we are trained marksman. We are seeking a safe place to deer and turkey hunt. Public land is available but the danger of running into someone not recognizing hunter safety laws is high. We would like you to consider allowing the boys and me to hunt on your land. Before you think it over please review the following:
1.	We would only be hunting for deer or turkey within the legal hunting seasons.
2.	The goal of our hunt is animal conservation and harvesting food for the family.
3.	We will not be using rifles of any kind due to their long firing range.
4.	We will take no shot without the safety of the ground as a backdrop.
5.	If needed, we are happy to call days before to confirm a hunting date.
6.	We will have personal identification and all hunting license on us at all times.
7.	We would never bring anyone else on your land or give others permission to hunt your land.
8.	We traditionally survey the hunting area the day before the hunt for safety reason.
If you would like to allow the boys and me to hunt your land or if you have questions, please call Clif @ 300-8319 cell.
Thank you for your consideration.
Looking for something in Nashville since Drummer lives in Fairview, Bass lives in White House, Guitar lives in Smyrna.
Would need to be able set up a set of drums, and a couple of amps, but overall not too loud, just working out original tunes. Must be in Nashville or centrally located.
This would be temporary until we can support our act.
Feel free call call me Lance if you have a large house with extra room to set-up, or perhaps a business with a room for such a thing. We could even practice at a church. We want to be able to practice from 9am-2pm 2 days throughout the week.
We are non smoking, no foul language, no drugs or drinks, just all about Jesus and serving the Lord with our musical gifts.
Foster DOGS that would otherwise be put to sleep!We provide all needs (Nashville)
Help save a life! We get dogs from shelters when they are being put to sleep and no one else wants them. We used to choose dogs and it was hard to sleep at night. We tell the shelters to call after adopters, other rescues, get who they want. They are all very adoptable but shelters get full and have to put them to sleep! We are in great need for foster homes as many of our fosters have adopted dogs, and now can't foster :( Medical expenses, food and a tax deductible write off is furnished as we are 501(c)(3). Shelter pictures of a few are shown below. The DOGS need YOU!!! You will be saving a life! This is perfect for a playmate for your dog, if you can't afford a dog you can this way, or if you just want to save a life! The foster is the most important part of the rescue! Without you they won't live as we are shelterless (we keep 4 dogs at a time-usually Pit's and medically needy)! Dogs are quarantined prior to going to their new foster home! We have an application and do a home check to assure the best dog for you and your home. Also to assure the home is safe as we know what they can get into :) Please call 615-944-7387 or go see the rescue at Petco in Hermitage Saturday 3:00 to 5:30 (these are less busy times)or Sunday 3:00 - 6:00. We can't save them all unfortunately but we can save more with YOUR help!
We also need grantwriters and fundraisers. Also, volunteers for weekend adoption events. We are looking for acreage to build a rescue to save more dogs! We take the mixes, Pit's, medically needy, elderly etc that are the first to go many times in a shelter. They all deserve life! Help make a difference :)
I am a teacher at a local middle school and am in charge of organizing our talent show. Part of the show will be a fashion show. We're having a spring dance, so I want the fashion show to have "looks" that would be appropriate for the dance: modest yet fashionable clothing that young adolescents would enjoy. The dance is semi formal to formal so "prom" dresses or nice cocktail dresses would be great.
I'm looking for anyone who has connections with a local store/boutique that would be willing to allow us to borrow their clothes for the show. I have selected very responsible and trustworthy models and will be supervising them very closely during the show. I will personally insure that the clothes return to you undamaged. PLEASE contact me if you can help or know someone who might be interested in helping us.
Thanks!
Hi,
I'm Emilee Warner with Nashville's WRLT Lightning 100 and Team Green. We are recruiting volunteers (hopefully over 1,000) for our huge event taking place May 3rd. We will be based out of Nashville Shoes and be heading out to the islands at Percy Priest Lake for a major litter cleanup. This will be the largest water cleanup in Nashville's history! Kathy Mattea will also give a free concert to the volunteers that evening. Full details are below, but please log on and register to volunteer and pass the word along to your neighbors, friends, family, and colleagues!
Cheers,
Emilee Warner
What: * FREE * THE LARGEST WATER CLEANUP IN NASHVILLE HISTORY.
Percy Priest Lake’s 24 islands and 213 miles of shoreline are grossly polluted. The Corps of Engineers estimates as much as 200 tons of trash tops the islands, and a hundred times more has fallen to the bottom of the lake. This FREE city-wide cleanup is expected to be the single, largest water clean up project in Nashville history.
