Volunteers needed to advise and teach us how to start an organic community garden and set up rain barrels to catch water for the garden.
Urban Housing Solutions is a local non-profit working to end homelessness in Nashville by providing permanent, affordable housing to people living in poverty. We also offer our residents on-site social services, education and job training through our Life University program.
Students in Life University at Mercury Courts (411 Murfreesboro Rd. 37210) and Greentree Terrace (2531 Glenrose Ave. 37210) want to plant community gardens to grow vegetables and herbs. We need advice and assistance with both projects. We want an organic garden and would like to learn how to compost for fertilizer and catch rainwater for the garden.
