Can you (or someone you know) host a foreign exchange student for two
weeks this summer?
Twelve boys and girls from China are eager to spend two weeks this
summer with families in Nashville. The students, ages 12-18, want to
live the normal everyday life of their host families, speak English
and gain a better understanding of American culture.
The students will be with their teacher from 9-5 Monday to Friday.
The students are sponsored by Nacel Open Door, a non-profit
organization. Nacel Open Door's mission is to promote international
understanding and language education by offering accessible, quality
exchange programs with a well-structured support network.
Host families are the heart of the exchange program. They welcome a
student as a new member of the family and share their home, lifestyle
and activities. Nacel Open Door welcomes diversity in its host
families. Students are matched with families according to their
interests and family priorities.
The students are accompanied by chaperones that also stay in the area
with families and provide excellent support. Students bring their own
spending money and have insurance coverage.
