Fosters Needed for "Last Call" Shelter Dogs and Puppies (Davidson/Rutherford counties)

The truth is rescues would love to pull all “last call” dogs and puppies but we are always short fosters. These animals need a temporary home, food, transportation to vet appointments and love. All the rescues I volunteer for pay 100% of vet bills at their designated vet. We have different vets for Murfreesboro and Nashville so that vet visits are more accommodating for the foster parents. Depending on the rescue your new foster will be with you for 2-3 weeks until transported north or until a new forever home is found in the TN area. The choice is yours. I will send you emails on specific “last call” shelter dogs that need a foster home and you decide if the timing or dog is right for you.
Being a foster and saving a dogs life has been the most rewarding thing I have ever done. Please email me for details if you think fostering is a calling for you.

This is Gracie’s story
Gracie was pulled from a high kill shelter where she was a “last call”. The shelter said she was 8 weeks old because any puppy brought into the shelter under this age would be euthanized because they couldn’t be spayed or neutered before leaving the shelter. When I took her to the vet she was 6 weeks and 3 lbs. I also noticed the first night I had her she had a huge laceration under her neck that was severely infected and a puncture wound on the top of her head. Thank goodness the shelter didn’t notice that because an injured dog is not adoptable and she would have been euthanized. GDRNE fully vetted Gracie and treated her wound. When she was 10 weeks old, a healthy 15 lbs she transported north to MA and went to her forever home. The picture of her in the snow she is 5 months old, healthy and happy.
Every dog that has been through my home has their own story of survival. I love the fact that I have the power to give them the second chance they deserve.
