I do know that you publishers are busy and I don't want to waste any of your time, but I do believe that these songs have a hit potential as the others do.
I did have responses from publishing companies but they wanted to use these songs for unknown artist and I need publisher that can introduce these songs to well-established artists like Kelly Clarkson, Faith Hill, Carry Underwood, Jessica Simpson, etc.
I thank you for your time.I'm looking forward to speaking with you soon. You can listen to these songs at my website http://www.myspace.com/freddieyoung1
I'm not looking for a new band... just looking to fill in for someone who can't make it or studio work.
RE: Union...The New Corporate Con-Game (Nashville)

The Union's been great for me. I've needed to get out-of-country performance visas every year for the past three years. The first year, Universal took care of it, but for the past 2 years, the union has petitioned for me, and handled all the paperwork for the indie bands I've performed with. What cost me a few hundred in membership dues, admin, and legal fees would have cost me thousands without the union each year. I've also helped/trained/coached the junior symphony orchestra as an associate to the symphony orchestra, and have received scale pay through the union for each and every 30 mins of work. I had to work, play, and network for all of the above gigs...nothing comes to you from sitting at home. Quit stewing about the union, or everything else in life, and get out there and get gigs. If that doesn't work, stay at home and practice hard for 2 more years, and then try again. Repeat, repeat, repeat...succeed or quit. Ask anyone in the biz...it's that easy and that hard.

what we are experiencing (the indies)
is in direct reaction to the unions.
it is a basic equation of cause and effect.

cause(union): overproduced, corporate cookie cutter, lifeless sound
effect(indie): unprofessional attempts at capturing passion and freshness and 'not-yet-created-ness' that sound unprofessional(purposefully redundant)

what we are wanting is the spontaneous, heartfelt, passionate sound of the indies
AND the professional, polished sound of the unions.

in reaction to all this i think we should ALL GET TOGETHER and start a new movement and call it 'the undies'.

(this is only meant to be a joke and no one should by any means actually try to start a new movement and call it 'the undies'. to do so would bring humiliation upon the entire music industry as a whole and add more fuel to an already ridiculously overheated flame. (my sentiments to both sides of the argument that are getting burned))

The union will NOT get you a gig, it will simply make sure that you are treated fairly when YOU get a gig, so all these posts about 'sucky musicians being protected by the union' are just crap. As I said earlier, anyone who plays for less than scale, even if they are not in the union, is their own (and the rest of ours) worst enemy.

I have painted large logos for over 50 bands and I can paint your band's logo on muslin for a awesome looking stage backdrop or amp mask. With years of experience painting large graphics, including billboards on the Las Vegas Strip, and my seriousness towards these drops, you are sure to get professional quality.

Are you fighting SLRS (Stage Light Reflection Syndrome)? Just kidding… but seriously, unlike vinyl banners, the paints I use on these drops have a flat finish, allowing you much more control over lighting effects on a drop. Higher end options are also available including special FX. For example, I can make a painted image on your drop disappear with a simple lighting technique. Now that’s something to think about!

If interested in contacting me please reply to the posting and PLEASE include your band's name for my email organization. I'll send you a link to my website. Take a look and send me your logo and approximate size of backdrop or amp mask you are interested in. The average size drop ordered is usually 5’x 9’. The average size mask ordered is usually 6’x 6’ and commonly ordered as a set of 2 for stage left and right use.

Serious inquiries only please. Remember, I cannot quote prices without seeing logos and you cannot send attachments with your Craigslist reply to this posting. You need a link to my website.

Drummers READ!! (Nashville-Murfreesboro)

Hey Guys, well we are about two weeks out from the next meeting on May 22 at 6pm!!! I am very excited, I cant wait to do this again. I have enjoyed meeting so many great players. I cant wait to see what new people we all meet at the next meeting. It will go pretty much the same as the last meeting, maybe a few changes. If you have a friend that is a musician invite him to, we hope to eventually have a large group of players for a backing band that can rotate in and out. Not to mention even thought this is about drummers, we can always network with other musicians not just drummers. Also bring your drummer friends, and pass this email on to someone who you think might be interested. I will be showing a short video this week, and have a short verse from the Bible to get things kicked off. I would like everyone to get there at 5:45ish so we can start as close to 6pm as possible. If you cant make it by then, its ok, just let me know if would don't mind.

For those of you who didn't make the first meeting and want to make this one but not sure if you want to play, its ok. There will be some people come to watch, learn and just hang out. If you have someone in your family who is a drummer I encourage you to bring them as well. There will be drinks and snacks there for everyone. We should have enough kits, If your wanting to bring your kit or something please let me know so i can plan for it.

I have to leave Tuesday and spend around 5 to 7 days on a tour bus in FL so if you need something feel free to call me up. I will call you back if i miss the call. email me i will give you my cell, or call the church for any questions.

see you guys!!! here is the old email i sent out one more time!!! see ya there, bring your sticks!!!!

__________________________________________________________________________________

I have scheduled the next meeting for May 22 @ 6PM. It is a Thursday night, so alot of you who work weekend dates, house gig and such can hopefully make it. We had a blast last time, and this time should even be better. We will have drinks, and snacks for everyone. This meeting will go much like the last one. we will have a few kits on stage, you can play with the band, solo, or play a drum duet kinda trading fours thing. If you want to just watch and get to know everyone thats fine to. We just want you there. We will also have a short video played that you will enjoy i am sure. none the less we will be meeting again, playing drums, hanging out, talking about some Jesus, fellowshipping, and having a great time!!! I hope some of the industry players can come out. It would be great for you guys to come out and hang with us, talk drums and let us pick your brains lol.. If your coming let me know, also if you would like to bring your kit i need to know. i don't want us to have to many kits, so let me know. thanks again and I cant wait to see you all again and meet some new drummers. Bring your friends as well. no matter your skill level come out, you might teach someone something and even the pros can learn something every now and then.

I hope to hear and see you all soon.

Is there a way to tell how popular a musician was or is?
Are there physical numbers to back it up?
Is there a way to compare, or is it like apples and oranges?
Are physical revenue numbers a decent gauge to tell how legendary someone was or is? Is there a website that has these numbers listed so you can compare different bands, or is that private information?

Also... If you are big in Europe, does that mean anything? (Just kidding)

My friend and I were debating about who sold more albums lifetime...
Billy Joel, or the Doors?

The doors seem far more legendary than Billy Joel... don't they?

But...Billy Joel had over a dozen albums and had radio hit after radio hit.
The Doors were legendary but only had 5 studio albums and a handful of hits.

So who sold more albums? Which one was more legendary?
Who actually made more money and had better numbers?

Also, Is music Regional? Did people in the south care about Billy Joel and/or the Doors, or were they more concerned country music at that time?

How about today, do radio stations in the south play as much Killers and Jack Johnson and Ryan Adams as Radio Stations in LA or NY?

Also, if you live in NYC, giant city made of concrete, a million people per square mile with creeps everywhere... and you have a toddler, where do you take him to play? (Just kidding again)

Sorry for the randomness... I've had a few too many beers.

I was trying to be funny, but I seriously do wonder. If you can help me answer these questions, I'd much appreciate it.

Thanks,

Ok, when you're wrong, you're wrong. If you were able to take a little home recording like that and turn it into $15 million in sales, I bow to your marketing genius. Using the Red Cross did seem to be beneficial to both of you. My mistake. I assumed and I'll be the first to say I'm sorry.

I hate hearing union guys get slammed because it assumes that we're all money hungry wanna-bes that don't give a crap about your project. That's never been my case. Sure, I know a few cats like that, but they are not the majority. Plus, there have been some losers that can't play or sing worth crap joining the union thinking they will be rich. I try to only get involved with projects I love, songs I love, etc. As a good business move though, I can't offer to do much for free. Especially if they are not a friend. Even before I was union, I had contracts. But when you find out how much it will cost you to fight a producer you thought was legit, it is impossible to collect. It only happened to me once, but that's enough to get your blood boiling.

I dare anyone to listen to a bunch of recordings and tell which are union and which aren't. Maybe you've come across some bad union guys, but I believe that can be said for any musician. Just because we like to talk about the fee up front doesn't mean that we don't have any passion in the studio. I want people to hire me because I'm good, not because I'm a "professional".

I'm glad you found that success, I really am. I think that has more to do with your business skills than perhaps the producing. In any event, that sounds like the exception to the rule, even as home studios get more high tech. I'm sure it can be argued back and forth what made that a success. But after all the fighting, it sounds like you took care of your musicians, and really that's all any of us want... not to be taken advantage of.

The union is intended for the benefit of professional musicians, not amateur musicians. That's why amateur musicians generally don't join, because it's not intended for hobbyists.

This is not meant to be a slam, or even to sound elitist ... it's a fact. The union offers an earned pension, equipment insurance, group health, job litigation, contracts, etc., because most professional musicians cannot get these things any other way.

True, the business model is changing, but then, it's never stopped changing. There are more people trying to make a living as a musician, and less opportunity for musicians to earn a good living.

But the union, through the hard work of some talented and very intelligent local musicians is, with the support of it's own membership, also learning how to navigate the 21st century.

The union is NOT for everyone. Hobbyist will rarely get much personal benefit. But in the end, it's the members who make the union what it is. The union is not home to ALL the best players ... just MOST of them ... and there's a lot of good reasons, still, for that FACT!!

And as a proud member of the union of musicians, I will do something I rarely ever do on CL. I shall sign off with my name.

RE: Making Money

"Judgmental much? First of all, if you put a studio together 20 years ago to record something commercial, you already had money. You couldn't get quality back then without spending hundreds of thousands. And if you made that small fortune marketing through the Red Cross after a tragedy, that's just sad. That's why they call the Red Cross "non-profit"."

Lets see how many times you can be wrong, shall we?

First of all, I recorded the entire thing in a living room studio on a tascam 388 that I bought with proceeds from a radio commercial I did on a fostex X15 cassette 4 track and a dx7.

The money I raised was by cold calling businesses of chamber of commerce members nation wide and getting small town businesses to buy large quantities of my tapes as christmas presents for their employees. I sold the tapes at $15 a set for two and gave $7.50 to Red Cross to distribute, kept the rest for myself and the few others that helped me. 50% is not a bad payout for the Red Cross that never had to lift a finger is it? It beats the 50% of profits that most give because I ate the production and manufacturing costs. How Red Cross spent the 7.5 million they got was not up to me but I would ask you when the last time YOU donated 7.5 million to anyone?

"Wow, so anti-union here. All the union does is process my paperwork, maybe go after a deadbeat producer if they don't pay (which only happened to me BEFORE I was union). That's it. Where are the people on CL who know that you need a good studio with a good engineer with good musicians to get a good recording? If you think $100 is unreasonable to pay someone, what is fair to you folks? After all, if I worked on the project mentioned, the one that made you a small fortune for a measly $30, I'm sure we can all agree that I'd have been ripped off."

The musicians I had got paid enough they were very happy. I never said how much I paid them, I only said that I don't like union and don't need them to do my bidding because I know I'm good enough. If you had to work for a deadbeat producer, you were on the low end of the smarts department. You need some normal education to know how to do business. I was pretty young when I did the Christmas recordings and managed to do all of that thinking, setup and paperwork all by my little lonesome.

"As for me, I make a good living, all music. I don't complain. No, I don't have a yacht. Don't want one. Too Robin Leach for me. I'm sure the sales from that one record didn't buy all that either. Not getting the whole truth here."

Actually, it did pay for that. In fact, you can do the math and see it bought a lot more then that! I like my boat - it has let me shmooze a lot more people and get a lot more work.... i actually have a new one now, its been a long time since then.

"It's nice to know that old money and people who haven't been in the industry for 20 years love us enough to blast us on CL. Any other working musicians, or producers that believe in paying a fair wage want to weigh in? Or hell, how about someone who recorded and album in the last 5 years in their garage with no budget and low paid musicians who turned that into a success. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe awesome musicians like to work for pizza money."

Musicians that are good will rise to the top. Musicians that can play a little should get whatever the market will bare on that day. You don't have a right to make a living at something you are not any good at. Maybe all you are worth is a pizza job, I don't know. I do know your attitude is defeated before you start. I do know that people like you make the music economy weak. You'd rather work for $100 now rather then 10,000 later. As I recall, everyone that I have ever worked with that was any good at all and worked like I do is now living a really great life. You might not like yachts but I'm sure a trip wouldn't piss you off. I paid my guys well and took them all to the south pacific on a killer 2 month surfing trip as a bonus. Say what you will but I don't work with union. I avoid union. I think union players all sound the same - boring as hell. The young guys with talent and fire that are willing to work for free are the ones I hire. When they just have to play my track I let them and often for gas money. When the track comes out killer, I pay them 10 times or more up front for the track. They aren't expecting me to and if they suck I don't - but when I do they sure are happy they met me.

There are a load of guys like me, sick of the crappy players called union and we pay well for good tracks. Funny thing is I NEVER tell anyone that I will pay them anything. I like fresh, true love for music. I learned this trick years ago when I did a track for a producer named Gat. He hired me for a track on a song I thought was smokin' and I didn't know who he was. When I found out it was a patty labelle tune and I was getting paid $500 for my 3 hours I decided to be really loyal to the man. I also learned that pure talent shines without Al Capone doing my collections and taking a cut.

Good luck to you - hope you get rich someday. Who knows, you might get a great time for delivering pizza

Hiring Musicians - A guide

Lets see,

My first band I put together I did with a free ad for musicians in a free paper. I played keys but needed the rest of the band and offered nothing but a band with hopes to make a little down the line. I found my guitar player from my high school (big school); John Nelson on guitar, Bass player found me and he was from my high school too; Jeff Long on bass and I forget the drummers name. Replaced Jeff Long with Robert trujillo a little down the line and we had a lot of fun the whole time - a little money to along the way. I guess we all sucked. John ended up being in a small band called Suicidal Tendencies. Robert ended up in another no name called metallica but he had to work for Ozy first and several others for that matter. jeff was in Waisted Youth. I guess you're right. We all sucked, me especially. I'm still working for a living with my publishing company, studio, and starving off of royalties form the various bands I've been in.

Ask yourself if we were just a bunch of talent that happened to be in one remote place or if we just worked hard, avoided selling out and wrote tunes people liked.

Its a crying shame we didn't join a union and get big enough to be able to rent a small home in Nashville and play the dive row for $30 a night.... Damn I wish I joined that union!

That's right guys - listen to the defeated! They MUST know more then you

Hey Cornbread, I was one of the kids. I put together a studio, played ALL the instruments and hired the singers, one of which has been my wife for 21 years now and the other is her best friend still. No one was screwed over. You're a loser, and have the attitude of a low life pile of dung.

I made a small fortune off of just over 1,000,000 copies! I had 2 CD's and they both sold just over 500,000 copies. I sold them as a set. I marketed it through the Red Cross just after Hurricane Hugo. I was young, smart and didn't want anything to do with being in a union. I knew anyone that relies on a union is going to get soft and worthless really fast. I knew that anyone that adopted that mindset would fall into status quo....... sound like your life?

I never said anything about anyone getting screwed. I never said anything about hiring anyone other then a few high school kids. I never said EVER SAID that I didn't pay people..... YOU with your low life cornbread, redneck, uneducated follow the leader brain just assumed that I was ripping people off because you can't see past the end of your nose. That is why I have multiple homes, a yacht, a wife that doesn't work, kids that are great and all the other great things in life and I'd bet dollars for dimes that you don't have any of it. Don't feel you have to answer anything - that is not why I'm ripping you another a-hole. I'm doing it for your own good and perhaps for someone else that might read this and buy into your self pity BS.

If you suck, hide behind your unions. If you are good, let yourself rise to the top. ***Maybe you suck!
I don't. I'd love to tell you who I am but the last thing I need is for a unibomber like you to come sniffing my after my short hairs. In fact, I'm sure you suck. You probably play banjo and suck. Banjo your main instrument? Oh, you play the 2 sting banjo............. That "L" on your forehead isn't a birth mark, you choose to have it there!

I work hard for my money, and I keep getting more work because I truly want to make the best recording I can for my client. We think were a bunch of "New Country" folk that don't buy into the "old ways" . It's annoying to you I know but why don't you just get used to it or move on.

So someone brought their sons in on a gig, wow, that's a new one! Haha. What does that have to do with the days of 3000 dollar a week road work being over for anyone but the wealthiest! Sure, Alison Krauss and all the rest of the truly wealthy can pay it but you can be dam sure they didn't pay that at the START of their careers.

Go and $#%@$T%^ all you want it isn't going to help you. You want steady work playing for the polyester crowd? MOVE TO BRANSON. There are over 2000 shows going on there at any given time, and LOTS of work for old crinkled people who can barely sing or play anymore.

Who do I think I am? I think maybe I didn't have the career I could have in the 70s, 80s, 90s because of a clandestine illuminati system run by asshats like you who thought you were GOD. I didn't want to blow you for some dumb backup job or a club gig. Well you're not God. That's Victor Krauss' job, hehe. Yeah I'll pay HIM 200 an hour if he'll even work for THAT! hahahah!

Unions are good for one thing only - killing an industry!

Basically, I am against unions. I pay what the project will pay and if you don't want the job you don't have to take it. If you are going to mandate how much someone has to get paid you will suck the life out of start up music.

The clown saying that no album ever sold more then 100,000 copies without being union is a total fool!

I recorded 2 christmas CD's with highs school kids 22 years ago that sold 500,000 copies in the first 3 years.

It always makes me laugh when scared little wimps try to protect their failing talent with a union. If you are good enough to make the money you will. If you aren't you won't. If the money is there ask for it. If you don't want the money because its not enough then don't take the job.

Unions are for LOSERS! THEIR TIME HAS LONG PAST AND NEVER HAD A PLACE IN THE ARTS!

I've made an excellent living from music my entire 45 years and have NEVER been in a union. I also happen to know that I make a better living then just about EVERY union member out there!

On second thought - Go ahead and join a union and become a clown player. It will make it easier for me to score the better gigs................

Studio Musicians Needed (Nashville)

I’m looking for musicians that I can hire to record the various projects that I have coming in my doors. I’ve been in business in California since 1986 but have moved. Obviously I didn’t bring my crew with me so I need new people to play.

I don’t have near enough musicians so if you are interested in playing for me I need a few things from you.

1)	I’ll need a real basic resume (nothing like a job interview, just a little about you and what you play).
2)	I need a sample of your playing. I could care less about the recording quality – that is my job. I do need to hear what you play like.
3)	I need to know your rates. I have various configurations of work coming trough from a one off demo to a bunch of demos to a self-release CD and even commercials and soundtracks. Give me a good idea of what you charge. ALL of the work I do is 100% owned by the client and there are no residual payments.
4)	A picture if you have it – I remember faces the best so if I hear your work and see your face I’m more likely to remember you…… its only for me, not the client.
5)	Please don’t forget contact information. – You’d be surprised!

Send this stuff to the email link that craigslist provides. You probably won’t hear from me until I have a project for you but I will know you’re there and to call you for the right job.

Thanks and I look forward to playing with you.

Wow, you guys are talking like all the "pros" are 50+ and all the young people aren't union. Just not true. Goes to show you that people like to talk more than listen. It depends on your goals. If you want to be an underground artist, use whoever you want with whatever you want. home studio, your friends, whatever. Just remember that the musicians you use get screwed if you pay them $50 then manage to sell a bunch of CDs. If you make 1,000 CDs and sell them all, you make about $8,000 (paying $2 each and selling them for $10). And you're complaining about paying someone $100?!? The reason Master scale is larger than Demo scale is just that. Once the musician does their job, they don't get another penny, even if it's a hit record. You're not going to go back and pay those guys more if you have a hit. Having said that, if your goal is to get a song published or get a record deal and you think you can compete with your home studio and some average musicians, than you haven't heard what you're up against. If you can't spend $100 for a pro or $500-600 on a full band professional demo, you just won't get the same quality. Great home studio or not. Those of us who charge it also pay it. Yes, it's expensive to cut a demo, but I want mine to sound better than the rest. Everything else in life is expensive too. Do you folks complain that car service is expensive? Cause they always charge me more than the cost of a demo to fix my car.

RERE:Union Scale Unrealistic today (MusicRow, Nashville)

Union scale only fairly applies to guys playing on Major label, mainstream country demos and records. Only George Strait, Allan Jackson, the pubs that supply the songs, and similarly wealthy people can pay those rates. 100-200 an HOUR? Dudes that's getting into 2 and 3 thousand a DAY for a full session, per player. NOBODY, and that includes many famous people, has that kind of money nor do the people backing them. Smaller established labels don't have that kind of money either.

You freak and whine yet most of the time you're willing to do session "under the table" anyway, because the union has priced you out.

It's not as much about you're AGE, we used that to punctuate a point, but yes, unfortunately, most middle aged musicians from the glory days can't face that it's over by today's standards. Most of you also haven't kept yourselves up health wise either, so your not strong enough to hire to go on the road. The stress of what "the spoiled brats of today" have to face is to much for you compared to the glory days of three busses and three trucks just for a typical Road band doing Top 40 Country. Those days are GONE .

The older generation had it EASY compared to what young people face today in the music business, not the other way around.

100-200 dollars A DAY would be making an excellent living by music industry standards today. We're very glad all of you got to live the glory days of the Row and earn upwards of 100k a year doing demos and sessions, but those days are OVER. Many established artists don't make near that a year, and they are at opening act concert level.

How you can have such a crappy attitude about a bunch of "Kids" that simply don't have that kind of money? Sounds to us like you're the ones who are spoiled.

And all that crap about "if it wasn't for us were would you be" etc , it's the same lame "when I was a boy I had to climb uphill to the Row both ways" BS arguments. PIMPS use that same logic to placate the people they USE to better themselves and ONLY themselves. If it was up to you it would be 1979, 1984, 1990 again and you'd be doing 200 an hour crack whores and massive amounts of cocaine in those "Union" sessions like you used to.

And forget the lame "I have a family to feed" excuse. It was your own personal choice to have kids while being a musician. Nobody owes you for your personal choices dude. Who were those three kids you had supposed to grow up to be, 200 dollar an hour session dudes times 3? So you expect them to all work at Union scale now, AND yourself? Get real.

The fact of the matter is that no matter who you are or how good there is somebody 16, 18, 20 years old that's better willing to do it for almost nothing.

And "Dog walkers" typically get10-25 dollars a walk. Nowhere near what you're demanding to scratch on that guitar per hour.

It's the OLDER generations that didn't have respect for others. No respect for Women, children, someone new, someone not southern, someone not white, not Christian, not "pure country", all the clichés of who you are has come back to bite you. You had your day, now move over and get used to "the kids". All that "pimple on your ass" stuff is lame and over.

To the writer of that post, “Union scale unrealistic". You probably wouldn’t make a good pimple on a 50+ year old professional musicians ASS!..
I can read from your posting, that you are the perfect example of a generation reared with total lack of respect… I suspect, that the only thing you’ll ever be great at… Is being An IDIOT!
Have a great day! 

Fair enough as far as times changing and people not having those types of budgets.

The flaw in your logic: quality. With few exceptions, despite the new technological advantages, the quality of recorded media through the new medium is sorely lacking. Why do you think that might be?

Could it have to do with the fact that the "old-ass, outdated" people you criticize worked their tails off to get where they are, and only want to be compensated somewhat fairly (the key word being somewhat) for all of their hard work, whereas nowadays, some lazy non-musician who learns a few tricks with computer software thinks they are now a recording artist?

To quote the great Diizy Gillespe (I know, you're now asking "Who?"), it ain't whatcha got, it's what you do with whatcha got!!!!!

OK I TOTALLY disagree. I know several musicians who live out of this state and live atleast 6 hours away from here and never lived in nashville that are in major bands and on major tours.I friend moved here from California because of the majoring touring gig he got out on the road 150-200days and the day he got here he went on the road. major act several #1's Just because you don't live in Nashville doesn't mean you suck ! If we had a poll on here with the musicians I6 bet 90 % of them have moved here from out of state . You my friend are someone that can not get a gig and are sour !!! you are afraid more talent will keep getting the gigs.

YOU SAID
this is for all the bands, singers, and anyone else who is posting on here living in another state. the truth is your not going to get a record deal, your not going to get hired into a famous band on tour, and your not going to accomplish your dreams. if you think you have what it takes, then move here and get out and about, mingle and meet people, and have a job and a place to live while doing it. no one is going to take you very serious when you post an out of state ad, unless your really close to nashville, and your networking HERE!. follow your dreams, try it, you will never know unless you come here. i did the same things too. then i got great advice from some of the best musicians in nashville. move here, and give it your best shot. good luck to you all.

Who ever came up with those figures is tripping. Those prices are strictly for top of the line mainstream country stuff. 90% of most of the music made in Nashville will never be in that budget range.

Then there is the little matter of demo as opposed to master. Only the labels and the wealthy have thousands to throw around on one song like that. Many a good record in this town is recorded for 1000 a track. To expect people to have that kind of money is unrealistic.

I'm sorry but only a top of the line, name guitarist is worth 100 bucks an hour, and most people don't need or want "top of the line" anymore, they want a unique and heartfelt sound. We're not paying some middle aged windbag 100 bucks an hour, we just ain't doin' it.

Smell the downloads or move to Branson. Branson is the new Old Nashville, Nashville is the New LA circa 1976. And Bitch is the new Black, get used to it. AFOM, Ascap, BMI, Sesac, NSAI, RIAA are all out of step with reality and modern times. Ya'll trying to hold on to your middle aged asses as long as possible, with the end of the tunnel in sight for yo ass.

You thought it would just go on forever, well is time to let another generation step up to the plate and we ain't paying 60 year old guys 100 bucks an hour to do our demos. We may just skip making demos altogether and just make a master and sell it and just bypass yo out 'o date ass altogether, bro.

Hello all!

I've been in Nashville for over a year now honing in my vocals and guitar skills (rhythm only) while beefing up my songlist and I'm tired of playing in my living room! I think I'm ready and I'm looking to either join an established band or begin a brand new one and start playing out ASAP. My influences include Merle, Hank Jr, Waylon, Alabama, George Strait, etc., but I also enjoy the new stuff as well (I'm most commonly compared to Randy Travis and Josh Turner). As a bonus, I'm a web-developer by trade, so if things go well, I could handle much of our marketing/advertising. Let me know if anybody's interested.
