If you've already responded I'd like to thank you and let you know that while I've been very impressed with the talent of those who've contacted me I haven't made a decision, and I realize I need to be more specific about what I'm looking for...NOT Pop, R&B or Rap or Bubblegum or Contemporary country or Broadway or Latin...Ideally a photogenic singer with some twang and soul and a solid upper register...

Hello we are a band located out of Tullahoma which is South of Nashville..At this time we have flipped aroungd so many bass players and rythm voacalist that we are getting sick of it and just ready to get a great musician in the spot...I am a guitarist also and my brother is an awesome beat box on the drums..we also have a singer who is very talented but he is now to the game, he also has lots of equipment so P.A. and so forth is not a problem..Right now we are looking for a good rythm player or bass or both would be nice too..I would really like if you had decent vocals to help out with a few songs on the set list but only require either bass or guitar top have some sort of vocals..I dont expect you to be the best instrument player in the world, just want to play good music, and put in the time to get better were you need it..we have been playing shows here in town and so far have had good comments and starting to get a good following, all these gigs were paying so we dont expect you to just goof of for fun..this is a serious hobby of ours..We like to play all kinds of music from classic rock to newer rock and some blues...we do a few country tunes but they are really good ones..If you think you are interested in talking more or just want to come sit in with us dont hesitate to give me a shout...we are ready to get back out there and play \

I am most honored if my post is being read out there in Tennessee, as I am in need of a helping hand in pointing me in the right direction, when I arrive in Nashville in December.
I am a composer of lyrics, words for thought, and lyrically connected with the ability to feel and capture moments by putting them together, and the outcome is at times amazing to me, it comes naturally, as I have been writing for about 15 years and have been told my Abilities are a Gift.
However, a year ago I contacted a Professionally known Music Production Company in Nashville and they reviewed my material and told me that I had Talent and that they would arrange, produce, and shop my music..that they specialize in talent development. I paid $1,500 and they re-arranged and recorded one of my previously recorded demo songs and said that they sent it to a couple of people, and I am still waiting on my 2nd song that was promised to be done before September, as a 2 for 1 special, which actually means I paid for only 1 song at that price. I am still waiting for #2 to be completed, and am being told it is a slow time right now for them.
I beleive that anything is possible...right place at the right time...and I just want to DO WHAT I LOVE, and am best at.
Lastly, I don't want to see anyone else fall to the same tune I did, no pun intended, and be left feeling as I have.
Well, back in the saddle again.....Just a California Gal looking for some Country Hospitality....Nashville awaits many a talented folk....would love to just be one of them and
MOVE people with my words!

Hey guys.
First of all, this is about having fun and playing music (not getting wasted and partying, though I don't care if you drink or whatever).
Second, my goal is to not make it big, I am in school and this is just about enjoying the art of music. So serious hardcore practice every day musicians may want to look elsewhere.
I'd like to play all sorts of styles, bring your creativity to me. I am a drummer and do not know much about any other instrument. Styles I love include blues, funk, rock, metal, hip-hop, and anything good. I'd love to fuse genres together, I definitely love people who can jam out and have a good time. I'd also love to do some local gigs if it get to that point.
I am a 21 year old guy... I have a good sense of humor, so bring whatever lyrics you want to the table. Very laid back and we could maybe jam out over at my house but it would be tight. If you have a garage or some place to set up that would be cool.

SOUND:

So after much self evaluation of the styles of music I enjoy writing and playing, pop rock is what comes most natural. I'm influenced by a wide variety of bands and genres but I have narrowed it down to a select few that show in my music. (Gin Blossoms, Parachute, Athenaeum, Goo Goo Dolls, Jimmy Eat World, Sherwood and Tonic) My preference of sound is the slightly over driven clean that gets distorted when played hard. I play with capos and some songs have DADGAD tuning so I like to hear the strings ring while playing chords. I am also not opposed to making the sound a bit heavier.

LOOKING FOR:

I am looking to form something that will be considered a career down the road but I'm also looking for guys who connect on a personality level as well as musical level. I take music VERY seriously but I also have priorities in life (such as have a day time job to keep the house) so I am looking for responsible players who share the same work ethic and dedication that I do. I have been playing for 15 years as a rhythm guitarist and I'm looking for players along the same skill set. Ideally, I would like to find a band the had 2 guitar players and the singer be able to play guitar as well so 5 members total. I write all of my music with a commercial mindset and something that would be very marketable and radio friendly. Most of my stuff is very upbeat and positive sounding.

GEAR:

I play with a 1972 reissue Tele with 2 humbuckers, American Tele, and a Epiphone 335. My pedals include a Bad Cat 2 Tone Preamp Distortion, Line 6 and Boss Delays, Tremolo, Phaser, and Volume pedal. Currently, I am playing through the new Line 6 Bogner Tube Combo Amp.

WANT:

Since I want to make this a career in the future, I want to find members that not only connect personality wise but also very much look the part. I am looking for people that look like a band. Image is very important in this market, not to sound conceited. I am also looking for members who don't do drugs and barely drink if its possible. I am all about the music and the love of music. I don't want any member who wants anything else but to play and enjoy music. The money, fame, drugs, women, etc are characteristics I don't want in band mates. VERY important to me.

A male singer who specializes in pop rock sound. I would like a singer that has had a lot of experience and is a talented song writer. THIS IS A MUST! I want to have songs that are catchy as well as meaningful.

A lead guitar player who understands this style of music and can play without over playing. I am looking for someone with experience that is also a writer who can bring more than playing the parts to the table.

A bass player who has years of experience and knows how to play the tasteful leads according to this genre. I am looking for a player who can be creative with their leads to fill the music.

A drummer who has years of experience in this genre but also knows how to be creative with their instrument rather than just playing a normal part. Also, good gear is a must in this area.

I have lived in Nashville all of my life and I have seen who knows how many local acts over the years. I get discouraged often because I cant seem to locate anyone who understands this genre like I do and wants to pursue music as a career down the road. I understand most of us have day time jobs and I am all for that. I used to work with the lead guitar player of the band SAFETYSUIT and I can tell you they all had day time jobs and player 2 venues over and over in Nashville until they were signed so its very possible to make a career out of this in the near future. Nashville has many talented people but I find many who lack commitment and want to find something temporarily until something else comes along. I am not looking for those type of musicians. Again, the idea is to become a family after being together for a period of time and a persons integrity and view toward music is a huge selling point for me.

If you are serious and have met the requirements that I am looking for, I would be interested in speaking with you further and discussing your take on music. Again, I am very serious about members since I want this to be commercially successful so please don't respond if you haven't met these requirements. I am an established singer/songwriter that has many venues that want me to play their clubs, but I need a band to back me. I play primarily country music. Hank Jr. style I guess and alot of the standards that pay respect to REAL country music. No bubble gum crap here. We will do alot of my originals as well. I really want a bunch of good ole boys that are serious about playing music. We will only play 6-8 gigs a month and am willing to collaborate on original music. I am a signed artist and the label is waiting for a live agenda to build our fanbase.

Like you, EVERYONE here "means business," so the sheer amount of competition can be overwhelming. You WILL be working a day job--count on it. And you'll make very little money performing. But you can live better here being poor than you can in L.A., and you won't sit as much in traffic. (You'll sit a lot, just less than in SoCal.) Hope this helps.

well....if you thought the pay was crap in LA wait 'til you get to Nashville.....where house pay is dirt and you have to rely on tips. Now...that being
said....you're a woman....if you're attractive and you put together a band (or more like join one) and have someone in the band who can front for two songs whilst you go
out into the audience with the tip bucket you can do pretty well. Don't expect to put a tip bucket on the edge of the stage and have anyone pay any
attention to it...they won't. There were a few things you didn't mention in your post....most notably your age....if you're still young (under 30) you might
find some doors are open to you....this is a town whose industry is currently fixated on the Taylor Swift's of the world because she's bringing in major ducats when
other female artists aren't. The other question I have is "do you have studio experience?" because you could do demo work if you're really talented.

several of the female singers I use in my studio squeak by doing only music gigs.....demos,Holiday Inn, Tootsies....whatever.....you just have to work to
get a steady gig and work that tip jug like your life depends on it....because it does.

-I am a very easy person to get along with, and I am going to be a father of twins in March, which will make things hard for awhile, but playing music is a dream and I want to make it a reality so I'm sure I will make it work.
