JOB DETAILS:
This position will be responsible for underground storage tank (UST) sampling (soil and groundwater) as well as Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs). Remedial experience is a plus. 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and applicable Refresher courses are a plus. Routine and technical report writing may also be required.
Areas of work include industrial and commercial facilities, gas stations, drycleaners, manufacturing facilities, landfills, etc. A willingness to travel outside of the Nashville area is mandatory. All work related travel expenses will be reimbursed 100% and if a personal vehicle is used then mileage rates would be paid as well.
Initially, this will be a field position and thus the work will be primarily performed in outside environments collecting soil and groundwater samples in typical southeast US seasonal conditions. Frequent lifting of field equipment and the ability to work 12 hours a day (as applicable) are required for this position.
REQUIREMENTS:
The ideal candidate will have 0 to 5 years of experience with a degree in environmental science, geology, or engineering. A college degree in an applicable area of study is required. Registration as (or ability to gain) a professional geologist or Engineer-in-Training or Professional Engineer is preferred if applicable.
Work Schedule: the schedule is flexible and depending on the person disposition. However, a minimum of 12 hours per week is required.
