Despite the myths promoted by Big Oil, alcohol is clean and renewable. It's our only option for an immediate escape from oil. If you build a still in your back yard and make alcohol out of waist products, you can make your fuel for less than $0.30 per gallon. And guess what, the federal government will pay you $0.61 per gallon to make it VEETC (Volumetric Ethanol Excise Tax Credit) of 51 cents per gallon and 10 cents per gallon producers credit. You can tell Big Oil to go straight to hell!

Help!! Calling all Animal Lovers

Hi, I am a 39 year old single mom who has always been an animal lover, not long ago someone I know female boxer had puppies and he was going to get rid of the litter in ways I care not to think about, but I talked him into letting the mother nurse the pups until they were six weeks old and then I would come get them. There were seven puppies that made it originally she had 11, I went and got them and contacted Love at first sight to find good homes for them, you see being an animal lover myself and raising my daughter that way we already have five dogs, six cats, a hamster and a bird which all eat better then we do and are very much loved most of them are ones that were abandoned and just needed a good home and someone to love them so they found us. Anyway back to the problem at hand. We took the puppies up to Love at First Sight and at the time they could only take three of them and then the following week if they had found good homes for them they would take the rest. The day before I was to take them up there they contracted parvo (I think thats how its spelled) one got really sick quick and passed away, the three remaining I rushed to the Nolensville vet clinic to see what could be done. They treated the puppies and all three are doing great and ready to come home. Thats where my problem begins they called me and told me that the bill was $2,650 dollars and some odd cents, I tryed to explain to them that being a single mom and having all the pets we already have I just didn't have that kind of money up front but I would be willing to make payment arrangements with them, they told me that they did not except payments that the bill would have to be paided in full and the puppies picked up within seven days or they were going to turn them over to animal control, by that time I was crying my eyes out. I told them that I thought that was being cruel after the puppies had fought so hard to live, that I realized that they had performed a service and deserved thier money, but there was no way I could come up with that kind of money all at once, but that I would make payments to them till the bill was paided in full, I also explained to them that I personally was not able to keep any of the puppies even though we would love to, but I was doing this because I knew they would be a blessing to someone. I have tryed everything I know to do to come up with the money from applying for Care Credit to asking every one I know to lend me the money but no one I know has that kind of money. So I am pleading with evevyone out there who is an animal lover to please help if you can to save these puppies lives. If you can help at all you may either contact Nolensville Veterinary Hospital directly by calling (615)776-5499 and telling them you would like to help the Coffey puppies, they take credit cards, checks, and cash. Are you are interested in improving international understanding? Sharing your home with a foreign exchange student? We'd like to talk with you! International Student Exchange is a great nonprofit orgainization. We are expecting students this fall from over 50 countries and would like for some of them to experience the wonderful culture and environment of Middle Tennessee. Most schools have a limit of only four or five exchange students per school and some schools have already met that maximum, yet we are likely to still have students needing placement when most of the schools are already full.

The students are between 15 and 18 years old, have passed a fairly rigorous application process, have their own spending money and medical insurance, and are great kids expected to be good ambassadors from their home countries.

All types of volunteer families are encouraged to contact us! Single parents, older couples, families without children, families with teens or young children--- all are welcomed to apply. Host families are able to select the student whom they feel will best fit into their home.

If you have any questions about ISE, would like to see a current list of available students, profiles of specific students, or would like to go ahead and fill out your own application to host, please feel free to contact me through Craigslist, or to phone at any hour. If you choose to call and are sent to voice mail, please repeat your phone number clearly at least twice so I can be sure to be able to return your call.

*NEWS: Because of the difficult economy we now have permission to place students for one semester at a time. If you find 2009 is not as bad as you'd feared, you may opt to continue hosting, otherwise, I would find your student a new host family in the same school zone for 2nd semester. This is usually pretty simple once the student is here.

"What party?" Denise Walden looked up from her stack of paperwork she had yet to complete.

"Don't be sorry. How would you know he didn't invite me?"

Sarah flushed. "I just assumed. I mean you're so dominant--I mean, you and he have always seemed to get along so well and most of the other special agents are going, but they have been his friends for years."

"He invited everyone but me?" Denise sounded incredulous.

"Well, the single ones, at least--he probably just thought--you know his parties are special--he may think you don't want to come."

"Why not?"

"Oh, no offense--it's just you're so vanilla--"

"Vanilla? Just what is that supposed to mean?" Denise's voice had a dangerous edge to it.

"Yeah, and he's so--I'm just putting my foot in my mouth now aren't I? Look--I'm really sorry, but there is nothing I can do to change things. I'm going to go now before I make things worse. Bye."

Denise was busy in her office when Victor came in to see her. Her heart skipped a beat as she met his eyes. They had become close over the last two months she had worked for this satellite office. She had worked hard and made a lot of progress on several cases. She had made several new contacts and informants. But this wasn't just about her doing her job. She had come to think of him as a friend and not just a boss.

He closed the door behind him, giving them privacy. Which she didn't mind, but she didn't ask for either. It just proved how he was used to taking charge and being in control of his environment.

Not being invited to his party should not have bothered her, but it did. She thought they were friends.

Evidently he didn't feel the same way.

It just felt so high school to be "outed" like this. Denise jutted out her chin, and prepared to dig in her heels. If he could act juvenile, then so could she.

"You wanted to see me, Denise?" His voice sounded so smug, so superior. She wanted to wipe that expression off his face. He took a casual stance, with one hand in his grey dress pants. His brown eyes sparkled at her merrily. He could have been a model in that business suit. Damn him for being so good looking. It messed with her in ways it shouldn't. He was her boss.

Denise tried to phrase her words in her mind before she spoke. If he knew why she called him here to talk would he be any less happy? "It's not really important, but I heard you are having a party?"

"Yes." He didn't deny it.

"This weekend?"

"Yes."

Denise frowned at him. She was used to be able to intimidate men easily, and nothing seemed to crack this fa�ade of his. He didn't look the least bit uncomfortable for her having brought up the party. Certainly he realized he didn't invite her? "Yes, well the only reason I am bringing it up is because if it happened to anyone else they may have felt uncomfortable being left out."

"Is this about you? Are you feeling left out, Denise?"

"Yes--and--no. What I mean is if you did this to anyone else I would have to say something, because by leaving that one person out, it would make them feel ostracized. Personally, I have been hardened enough to not care, but to someone else it could really hurt their feelings." Denise's eyes caught on the off white card that he slipped out of his pocket. "I didn't ask to speak with you to force an invitation. I just wanted to help make you a little more aware of other people."

"Are you finished?"

"Yes."

"Who told you about this party?"

"It doesn't matter."

"It actually does matter, but since you won't tell me, I will figure it out on my own. Did they tell you what goes on at my parties?"

"All she said was it was the special kind." But her legal assistant Sarah did seem to like remembering the party. That was before she became uncomfortable from having brought attention to Denise's lack of an invitation.

"She?" he repeated, smiling at her. She winced at her disclosure. She had not meant to give out too much information. And she probably just narrowed his suspects down by half. Well, in this office, it was over half. More like down to three people.

He walked the invitation over to her and laid it on her desk. "My parties are very special. I just didn't think you were into that lifestyle, Denise."

He was regarding her with a wary expression, scrutinizing her reaction. She noted his set face, his clamped mouth and fixed eyes.

"What kind of lifestyle? Is this one of those swinger parties? A kinky sex party?" As she asked that question, she became aware of another kind of excitement overcome her body.

The corners of his mouth twitched in response. "You might call it kinky. It's where people can be free to express themselves and doms and subs can hook up and pleasure each other. It is not always about the sex, either."

"Doms?" she questioned, searching her mind for what the word meant, what it could be an abbreviation for. It sounded foreign and nothing clicked in her mind at the word. So her expression remained blank.

My son and I are saving coke cola points that are on the bottom of the caps or on the inside of the boxes in 12pks.If anyone would be willing to send us there points so we can save up for the item we want on the coke cola site that would be great.All u have to do is e-mail me the code under the cap. The info on them is both letters and numbers.They are not only on the coke bottle but anything that is made from coke. Example:Sprite,lipton tea,faygo,Etc. Please be advised...YES! Locksmith's now must be licensed in the State of Tennessee. However, the deadline for all paperwork to be turned it was July 1, 2008. Not all licensed locksmiths have received their I.D. and paperwork. There is a 60 day period of transition. Prospective customers can check www.tn.gov/commerce/boards to find out if their locksmith is indeed licensed.

Did you know that the high school exchange student programs were created by our governemnt after WWII to improve our image worldwide? The programs still exist because they work, and there has never been a time that we NEED this more than now.

Please do not dismiss this wonderfully enriching opportunity because you have no children, are single, or have only small children. Some of the best placements have been with families with small children. Two or more teenagers under the same roof is a whole different dynamic than one teenager and a few small children who all love each other and can express it much more freely than.... You know what I mean; both ways can work beautifully.

International Student Exchange is a non-profit organization, approved by the U.S. Department of State, and fully listed with the Council on Standards for International Educational Travel (www.csiet.org).

It's all about connections and life-long friendships with kids who may, in the coming years, become leaders in their home nations. We work with students from at least 56 nations including Spain, Vietnam, Tailand, Holland, Chile, The Czech Republic, Belgium, South Korea, Serbia, China, Brazil, Germany...

Currently we need volunteer host families for students arriving in August for the 2008-09 school year.

Upper Left: Raiko from Germany is very athletic, he even coaches a baseball team of younger boys. He has a lot of chores at home and wants to be a policeman when he grows up.

Upper Right: Huy is from Vietnam. He is a serious student who enjoys swimmming, movies and art. His chores include repairing appliances and he wants to be an architect when he grows up.

Lower Left: Atsushi is from Okinawa. He enjoys soccer, basketball, baseball, volleyball, track and field and badminton, but soccer is his favorite sport.

Lower Right: Diane is coming to us from Belgium, but she is originally from Rwanda. Her mother writes, "Diane is a warmful and open person, very dedicated. She is very smart and has a big sense of responsibility; she is hardworking and really organized."
