There are NO pets to be sold on Craigslist and the rules clearly state that only a small rehome fee may be charged and I don't believe any fee in the hundreds of dollars is considered small.

I replied to an ad earlier this morning about getting a pup and it turned out that the person was no only selling the animal by asking $400 for it, but they also showed the dogs in dog shows, which also indicated that she was a professional dog breeder as well.

This is the most cut throat, bigoted category on Craigslist and I do wish that they would better manage it.

Did someone say Volunteers? Well, when I was in the Marines I learned to never, ever volunteer for anything and I haven't learned anything different in all these years since.

I have 3 great quality Digital Cameras sitting around gathering dust and 2 of them are less than 6 months old. I have a 5,7 and 10 Mega Pixel digital camera/s. All digital cameras are capable of also taking digital videos as well, so if you want video taken, that too can be done however, only the 10 MP camera will assemble both the video and audio without further editing. Any video and audio editing will naturally be an added expense and will be charged accordingly. I will naturally recommend taking all video with the 10 MP digital camera, not only for ease on my part but for cost effectiveness on your's.

I am willing to travel to your location and take as many pictures of anything you so desire, anything...

My idea is or was to help you get your pictures out of the net for any reason you may so desire however, what you want photographed or what you do with those photographs is no real concern to me provided that you don't ask me to violate any laws of your local, state or federal governments. UNDERSTOOD ???

How about we do this another way? How about I provide you with FREE digital photographs and you compensate me only for my time and gas (automobile) that it takes me to provide you with these free services? I think that sounds a little bit more reasonable and fair to you. That way, you pay me only for the time it takes me to travel from and back to my home and for the gasoline that it takes me to get there and back.

My time will cost is for sale at $20 per hour (from the minute I leave my home, until the minute I return home, total travel time will be calculated on the exact time it takes me to get to your location, multiplied by 2) The cost of gasoline is $5 per gallon and my car gets 20 miles per gallon, so if I have to travel a total of 100 miles ((round trip)), then I will charge you $25 for the gas for my car.

The only other possible charge that you may encounter is if you want the digital SD memory chip that my camera needs to take pictures or video and that cost varies, according to what the going rate is for me to replace what I currently have in my cameras. A 4 GB SD memory chip will take hundreds of pictures while only handling about 30 minutes of video. All pictures will be saved in a JPG format and video will be saved in an AVI format and videos will also include audio as well.

Current SD Memory is estimated at and I will need to know at the time of your setting an appointment with me if you wish to own the memory before I leave your site.

The Union's been great for me. I've needed to get out-of-country performance visas every year for the past three years. The first year, Universal took care of it, but for the past 2 years, the union has petitioned for me, and handled all the paperwork for the indie bands I've performed with. What cost me a few hundred in membership dues, admin, and legal fees would have cost me thousands without the union each year. I've also helped/trained/coached the junior symphony orchestra as an associate to the symphony orchestra, and have received scale pay through the union for each and every 30 mins of work. I had to work, play, and network for all of the above gigs...nothing comes to you from sitting at home. Quit stewing about the union, or everything else in life, and get out there and get gigs. I must say, I am surprised and happy to see so much pro-union sentiment here. The union will NOT get you a gig, it will simply make sure that you are treated fairly when YOU get a gig, so all these posts about 'sucky musicians being protected by the union' are just crap. As I said earlier, anyone who plays for less than scale, even if they are not in the union, is their own (and the rest of ours) worst enemy.

My 8 month old cat got into a fight with another cat and got a severe laceration on his tail which bled at first. The cat hid for a couple of days and didn't want to be near anyone. It appeared to have healed but I don't think it did. It has green stuff on it and looks bad. I need to find a good vet to take him to in the morning. I have six children and one is just 6 weeks old. Hey Guys, well we are about two weeks out from the next meeting on May 22 at 6pm!!! I am very excited, I cant wait to do this again. I have enjoyed meeting so many great players. I cant wait to see what new people we all meet at the next meeting. It will go pretty much the same as the last meeting, maybe a few changes. If you have a friend that is a musician invite him to, we hope to eventually have a large group of players for a backing band that can rotate in and out. Not to mention even thought this is about drummers, we can always network with other musicians not just drummers. Also bring your drummer friends, and pass this email on to someone who you think might be interested. I will be showing a short video this week, and have a short verse from the Bible to get things kicked off. I would like everyone to get there at 5:45ish so we can start as close to 6pm as possible. If you cant make it by then, its ok, just let me know if would don't mind.

For those of you who didn't make the first meeting and want to make this one but not sure if you want to play, its ok. There will be some people come to watch, learn and just hang out. If you have someone in your family who is a drummer I encourage you to bring them as well. There will be drinks and snacks there for everyone. We should have enough kits, If your wanting to bring your kit or something please let me know so i can plan for it.

Is there a way to tell how popular a musician was or is?
Are there physical numbers to back it up?
Is there a way to compare, or is it like apples and oranges?
Are physical revenue numbers a decent gauge to tell how legendary someone was or is? Is there a website that has these numbers listed so you can compare different bands, or is that private information?

Also... If you are big in Europe, does that mean anything? (Just kidding)

My friend and I were debating about who sold more albums lifetime...
Billy Joel, or the Doors?

The doors seem far more legendary than Billy Joel... don't they?

But...Billy Joel had over a dozen albums and had radio hit after radio hit.
The Doors were legendary but only had 5 studio albums and a handful of hits.

So who sold more albums? Which one was more legendary?
Who actually made more money and had better numbers?

Also, Is music Regional? Did people in the south care about Billy Joel and/or the Doors, or were they more concerned country music at that time?

How about today, do radio stations in the south play as much Killers and Jack Johnson and Ryan Adams as Radio Stations in LA or NY?

Also, if you live in NYC, giant city made of concrete, a million people per square mile with creeps everywhere... and you have a toddler, where do you take him to play? (Just kidding again)

Ok, when you're wrong, you're wrong. If you were able to take a little home recording like that and turn it into $15 million in sales, I bow to your marketing genius. Using the Red Cross did seem to be beneficial to both of you. My mistake. I assumed and I'll be the first to say I'm sorry.

I hate hearing union guys get slammed because it assumes that we're all money hungry wanna-bes that don't give a crap about your project. That's never been my case. Sure, I know a few cats like that, but they are not the majority. Plus, there have been some losers that can't play or sing worth crap joining the union thinking they will be rich. I try to only get involved with projects I love, songs I love, etc. As a good business move though, I can't offer to do much for free. Especially if they are not a friend. Even before I was union, I had contracts. But when you find out how much it will cost you to fight a producer you thought was legit, it is impossible to collect. It only happened to me once, but that's enough to get your blood boiling.

I dare anyone to listen to a bunch of recordings and tell which are union and which aren't. Maybe you've come across some bad union guys, but I believe that can be said for any musician. Just because we like to talk about the fee up front doesn't mean that we don't have any passion in the studio. I want people to hire me because I'm good, not because I'm a "professional".

I'm glad you found that success, I really am. I think that has more to do with your business skills than perhaps the producing. In any event, that sounds like the exception to the rule, even as home studios get more high tech. I'm sure it can be argued back and forth what made that a success. But after all the fighting, it sounds like you took care of your musicians, and really that's all any of us want... not to be taken advantage of.

Musicians Union (mid tn)

The union is intended for the benefit of professional musicians, not amateur musicians. That's why amateur musicians generally don't join, because it's not intended for hobbyists.

This is not meant to be a slam, or even to sound elitist ... it's a fact. The union offers an earned pension, equipment insurance, group health, job litigation, contracts, etc., because most professional musicians cannot get these things any other way.

True, the business model is changing, but then, it's never stopped changing. There are more people trying to make a living as a musician, and less opportunity for musicians to earn a good living.

But the union, through the hard work of some talented and very intelligent local musicians is, with the support of it's own membership, also learning how to navigate the 21st century.

The union is NOT for everyone. Hobbyist will rarely get much personal benefit. But in the end, it's the members who make the union what it is. The union is not home to ALL the best players ... just MOST of them ... and there's a lot of good reasons, still, for that FACT!!

And as a proud member of the union of musicians, I will do something I rarely ever do on CL. I shall sign off with my name.

AKC Minature Bull Terrier! (Murfreesboro)

7-month old AKC Minature Bull Terrier needs a new home!

He is solid white with two brown patches.
(one over his eye the other on his back leg)

He weighs roughly <30lbs.

He was born 10/16/2007.

He has already been neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on all shots, de-wormings and vaccinations. (have records on all- including certificate of neuter)

Also includes Pedigree and AKC forms.

He is a smart, fun-loving dog with a great comedic personality.
He has already been crate trained and knows most simple commands.

Also included:
Two black metal crates (one for sleep, one for travel)
All of his (many) toys
Leash/Collar/Halti head collar for training
Current Food
Food/Water Bowls
Bitter Lime- (he has never had ANY problems with furniture chewing, I bought it as a preventative and barely ever used it)
Ect...

He needs a home where he can have all the attention he deserves.
He is great with people and other dogs.
He would love a big yard to play in!
He has never shown any signs of food aggression or aggression to other dogs (he tends to be more submissive)

The ONLY reason I am letting him go is due to me moving and a change in my employment that doesn't leave me with the extra time he deserves.

Beautiful kitten needs new loving home. I cannot keep her because my other cats don't get along well with others. She is less than 1 year old, cream colored, and has the prettiest blue eyes.
