My buddy wiped out and hurt himself this weekend on the Trace. Thankfully I was there to help him. Now my wife is a bit worried for me riding alone. Anyone else ride out there regularly? I usually see at least one or two folks, but it's cool to have someone to ride with in case anything happens. I'm a beginner so I don't ride terribly fast. Interested in riding after work, around 5:30 or so, 2-3 times a week. Please email me if you're interested, maybe we can work something out.

Thanks.

Does your family have room for one or two more members? Do you need a jogging partner, a language coach, an additional basketball player, tennis player or an artist? Have you got the welcoming spirit of hospitality to take a 15-18 year old foreigner into your home and treat him or her as you would your own child?

We have profiles of about 20 high school exchange students to place in Tennessee and Kentucky for the 2008-09 school year. International Student Exchange receives students come from over 50 nations, including such diverse places as Vietnam and Brazil, Slovakia and France; and from a variety of backgrounds and interests. Many are athletes, cooks, musicians, etc. All are good students; many are superb.

We need your help to bring them here. They have gone through an arduous application process but can not receive their visas or be certain of a place in the program until someone can give them a place in their home. Also, the later it gets the more difficult it is to find schools with available room for them. All public schools and some private schools have a limit (usually 5, sometimes less) to the number of exchange students they can accept. Some Rutherford County high schools have already met their limit of exchange students for the 2008-09 school year.

I am a 22 year old white male from middle tn area. I have been serious about my golf game for about 5 years now day in and day out I have improved my game. I am a +1.4 handicap which means i usually shoot an average of 2 under where ever i go, give or take a few shots. For me to start competing in nationwide tour events would be my easiest route to getting my career started. To qualify for an event there is a monday qualifier for each event which cost $350. Me only being 22 i dont have the money to travel the country week to week and try to qualify for these tournaments. Keep in mind once i qualify for my first event i will be playing in $500,000 dollar or more prize pools. Something like this wouldnt cost much to someone who could afford to get me started and everything I win will be split 50/50. You may read this and think I am just a kid wanting someone to throw money at me and spoil me but I am not I now hold a fulltime job at bridgestone which I have had for over a year. I am a very respectful and determined person when it comes down to me needing to do what it takes to get the job done. If interested please email me I have got references and a whole bunch of talent ready for the whole world to see. Im up for any possibilities so let me know. Thank you for your time.

In the evenings we enjoy the usual dinner, movies, bowling and the occasional concert, theater or sporting event. Throw in the "every once in a blue moon" trip to a night club for billiards, dancing and karyoke. We do not use drugs and very rarely drink.

We would like to find a couple with similar interests in our age group to get to know. We are NOT looking for "swinging" partners, but something more genuine and long lasting.

I will bring all the fire-wood and camping gear. Like I said before all you need to bring is you your friends and a great time. If this sound like somthing you would like to do please feel free to email me for any questions. Lets work out the details. So we can have a great time.
Max people that can go is 10 total maybe more. I just don't want to get to big.

Do you have space in your heart and home for one more soul? If so, International Student Exchange (ISE) is seeking volunteer host families to open their homes to high school aged foreign exchange students.

You do not need to have a high school age student already in your home. You do not even need to have other children in your home. Some of our students are very good with little ones and will even enjoy being in a family with small children. If you are concerned that one high schooler would be lonely or bored in your home, we will happily place two of the same gender but different native tongues in your home. They can even share a room. One of my very best placements this year was a 16 year old Dutch girl staying with a family with four small children.

ISE is a non-profit organization formed in accordance with the guidelines of the US Department of State and fully listed with the Council on Standards for International Educational Travel. (see www.csiet.org).

Our students are between 15 to 18 years old, come from over 50 different nations, get good grades, speak English, and want to come to America to get to know us better. Most are athletes. Many are musicians. Their application process is fairly arduous and many are not accepted. They come with insurance and with a minimum of $300 a month spending money to cover expenses beyond the room, board and reasonable transportation expected to be provided by the volunteer host family. Most will attend the public high school for which the host family is zoned, though we do have some with extra money for private schools.

As a host family, you would fill out a host family application which is nine pages long, but no more difficult than the pages of a second or third grade spelling workbook. The application includes pictures, an introductory letter, and an outline of family rules and expectations. The original of this application ultimately ends up in the hands of your chosen exchange student and his or her family. This becomes their introduction to you, and from that point you can communicate prior to your student's arrival, and thus build a foundation for your relationship before (hopefully long before) the student arrives. This is your chance to let them know if they should bring their riding boots, ballet slippers, a winter coat or their favorite cooking spices that might not be available here.

Host families and students will have the support of a local ISE area representative to provide advice, orientation and back-up throughout the school year. There is a Regional Advisor here in the Nashville area, a superb Regional Manager in Raleigh, and then the main offices are full of wonderful people in New York. You will enjoy getting to know some of these people as well as your exchange student, his or her family, other students and host families in the area.

I like my job because of all the fun, interesting and intelligent people with whom I get to work.

Please join us.

Feel free to call or e-mail at any hour with questions. The phone takes messages 24/7 but does not record phone numbers at night, so please be sure to repeat your phone number clearly.

HI,
I'm in my early 20's and am looking to get back into playing tennis this summer. I used to play USTA Juniors in the old days but haven't played much in the last few years. Still, I have the skill set to be competitive at a high level, especially once I get back into it. Would love to find someone who has a solid game and could come over to the West Nashville Area. I don't care if you're a man or woman, young or old, black or white as long as you can hit a ball with a racquet. Let me know if you're interested and your background, thanks!

If you are a current member of Urban Active (the old gold's gym in donelson on lebanon pike) and would like a partner for a personal trainer please get in touch with me. I have been a member for several months and really want to keep a personal trainer and can't afford it alone. If we go in together it will be $50.00 each month for a trainer once a week. They will do a small group and it gets more reasonable this way. I am a 40yr old woman that has already lost 123lbs and need to lose 35 more. I work out 5-6 days per week, 2 on strength training and the others on cardio & tone. I go in the mornings around 9 so I get to use the daycare from 9-11am. If this sounds like something you might be interested in please send me some info. about yourself and a contact number and I'll call right back. I don't mind if you are a man or woman as long as your goals and commitment are the same as mine. I had gastric bypass 10 months ago and have a goal set for my 1yr post surgery date so some competition would be great for me. Please write with any questions. Please get in touch with me if you are interested in a workout partner.

Hi,

Looking for anyone interested in fencing OUTSIDE of the local clubs here in Nashville. Haven't picked up my epee in awhile and would like to meet anyone else who just wants to practice. I'm not terribly interested in competition--which is not to say I am not competitive--or in joining a club, though I have fenced (epee) at Nashville Fencing Academy and at Halberstadt (foil) in San Francisco. I have my own weapon (epee), mask, jacket etc and am available most evenings after 7. We can call our own touches, so be honest and we won't have to go to sharps. (just kidding. Ha. Ha.)

If it matters, I am male and in my 30's. I don't have a preference of whom I fence.

Please be in the Green Hills area or willing to come out this way.
Cheers.
